Legalize Pot? Would it help with national debt?
So if we legalized pot we could tax the crap out of it, like tabaco and alcohol. Also, it is easier for a teen to buy pot than beer because pot dealers dont card. But if it were legal then the govt could regulate it, right? So why not legalize it? Reefer Madness?
Why would you want to tax a plant? Do you truly think that teenagers (12 -18) should use cannabis sativa at all? Why, do you true want another generation of stoned teens?
Marijuana smoking has the same potential of causes lung lesions as does tobacco. Do you think by adding a tax to using this play that it would all be gravy to the government. My opinion would be that government would grow and more draconian in their efforts to find no untaxed plants. (Anyone can grow them in a basement.) Does this nation need another reason to send armed hobnail booted thugs into dorm rooms ?
Before you seek to tax things or actions --- Just think if Pelosi/Reid accepted the idea of taxing things that make people feel good. Look at the fund raising idea that they could come up with:
A $2.10 pleasure tax per condom. A tax on candy say 50 cents per 2 oz of anything with chocolate. A tax on the 3rd pair of shoes owned by an individual --- a wealth tax of 75% of the cost of the shoes. What about an tax to offset environment cost on cleanup on Kleenix tissues, napkins, or on TP.
