Custom Electric Guitars
Ah, to have your very own custom electric guitar – one that is uniquely yours, uniquely you – now that’s a great vision! Imagine your guitar, so perfectly fit to you, that once you pick it up, you will never want to put it back down again! With a guitar like that, you will be showing it off everywhere you go.
Imagine anything you like and you can custom design your guitar to reflect that part of your personality. Dream up any quality, or a whole bunch of qualities, you would like for your guitar to have and you can make it happen. How about a guitar that helps you perform even better than your personal best? How about an electric guitar that lets you pick your own sound, personalize your own style, make you shine and sing like no other - how awesome is that?
There are tons of really cool guitars out there, but if you could have one that was unlike any other, and one that totally represented you and your soul, wouldn’t that be perfect? You know how you feel when you play your electric guitar – you are one with the music – you can feel the vibrations and the melodies and the intensity of the screaming strings in the very pit of your being – how incredible would it be then, if the design of the guitar reflected you every bit as much as you are able to reflect the message in the music!
You can actually design your own custom electric guitar and order it to be made by one of several companies that offer this service. Here are just a couple of things you might want to customize:
The Neck
Generally speaking, most electric guitars are built by bolting the neck onto the body. This works, and obviously the sound it produces is pretty good, too. But when you design a custom electric guitar, you may choose instead to have it built such that the neck extends all the way into the depths of the body of the instrument, thereby completely eliminating the need to bolt it into place. This would definitely enhance the vibration and sound produced by the instrument.
Magnetic pickups
In the typical electric guitar you buy already manufactured, the magnetic pickups are loosely suspended under the strings on plastic pickup rings. One custom designer bolts the magnetic pickups directly onto the neck. This results in better stability and internal cohesion of the instrument. The difference in sound that this can make in terms of tone, resonance, and sustainability is dramatic.
These are just a couple of possible areas of customization. Of course, you can also customize the shape, color, and motif of the body. The possibilities are endless, so start dreaming and planning your very own custom electric guitar!
