I'm looking for someone that can make a dollhouse replica of my house.?
My parents will soon be moving out of the house that they raised 4 kids in. We are all sad to lose the house, and I thought if we could have a miniature version it might help us miss it less. All dollhouse information I've found is based off patterns. I'm looking for someone that can make a replica of our house.
The first thing to do would be to get reasonably accurate measurements of the inside of the house and some photos of the outside - all four sides if you can. I am a near retirement architect and would be happy to cut the model out for you. I did one for my sister some years ago and it turned out fairly well. It would be up to you to redo the interior to make it "feel" like your old house. I am in the central valley of California (Fresno). It could be done through email if you can get the measurements and photos. It would be fun to tinker with it. Going to a professional model maker is going to be expensive. Anyway, if I can help, let me know. You get the measurements and I could at least ry to draw the plan for you. It would only take an hour or so if the measurements add up OK.
If you want to take on getting the measurements, just measure each room (both directions) and any doors and windows (width of doors and width and height of windows). Try to sketch a really basic plan showing where each room is in relation to the others (this does not need to be accurate) and give me the dimensions I asked for. A photo of the walls with doors and windows would also help. Pictures are very good if you can get them. If you take a lot of pictures and want me to give it a try, just let me know and I'll give you my address and you can send a CD.
