               A dessert table is often considered to be the most important component of any event and part of the reason is the beautiful display of delicious treats.            Cake (or dessert) stands are available in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors. The most traditional cake stand measures 9-10 inches in diameter and is a round plate on a pedestal (usually 3-5 inches tall). A dessert stand can be larger or smaller however and does not necessarily need to be round (even if your dessert is). A bright color is a great way to draw even more attention to your dessert display such as a vibrant Ruby Red or an intense Cobalt Blue.            Building a fine tableware collection is a worthwhile pursuit because it will last for years and many pieces can be used in a variety of different ways. Remember that glass can break when it is not properly stored or is transferred from extreme hot to cold (or vice versa).
