how to stop my wife from making my only son into a sissy?
He is not a baby anymore yet she still cuddles him constantly and "kisses" his "booboo". And whenever Im home I always find him in the kitchen with her helping her make something. And if that wasn't enough, he was playing with his older sister and they were playing with her dollhouse.
I got angry with my wife and sat her down and explained to her that she has to stop this before it gets worse. but she just nods her head and agrees- but I don't think she is going to actually follow through with it? I do not have much time to spend with him myself.
Your wife is teaching him how to have an independent life. How is your son supposed to survive on his own if he doesn't know how to cook for himself or clean up after himself? Also every boy should be exposed to baby dolls it makes them more compassionate when they have their own kids. I had friends that grew up with fathers like you, they weren't allowed to do anything that their father deemed unmanly.
These guys were useless slobs. Their girlfriends usually dumped them due to the fact they thought everything the girls wanted to do was chick stuff. Not only were they physically incapable they were also emotionally capable. They couldn't open up to anyone because it wasn't the "manly" thing to do. These guys are most likely distant towards their family and probably treat their sons they way they were treated, thereby continuing the same destructive habits.
I didnt have a dad growing up so let me tell you that if I didn't learn to cook or clean while my mom was at work, I would be a 500 pound slob today. BTW McDonalds is not food!
Anyway, you should really try to spend at least an entire day with your son. I have a nephew and daughter that I take on weekly field trips, we go hiking, play baseball, ride off road vehicles. Things that are usually stereotypically geared towards boys. I believe that young girls should know how to survive in a mans world the same as a young boy should learn how to survive in a womans world. When they are older they will understand the opposite sex better. Oh and I also make deserts with the kids. They love it!
