Planning a first time trip to Denver Colorado and need advice on where to stay?
My boyfriend and I (in our late 20s) are planning our first ever trip to Colorado from October 9-14. Here are some things we want to do: explore Denver, visit the Rocky Mountain National Park, find a good ATVing place, possibly rafting, etc. We love scenic places, mountains, hiking, locomotives/trains, and anything adventurous. We don't plan on skiing. We were planning on flying in to Denver and staying at a hotel in Boulder. Boulder seems like a central location between Denver and Estes Park. We will have 6 days and need to know, realistically, where we could stay to maximize on our trip. Also, if anyone has any suggestions for places to visit, I appreciate the help!! 
Either Boulder or Golden (which is just south of Boulder) are great places to stay to be close to the mountains, but still 15 min away from downtown Denver. There are a number of really nice attractions in Colorado Springs, such as Seven Falls, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, but it is about an hour away to the south of Denver. Maybe consider Granby and Hanging Lake, I thought it was an amazing hike and beautiful lake, about 2 hours east of Denver. Have fun and good luck!
